GOVERNANCE

CTPR has an Annual General Assembly (AGM) which acts as the supreme body of the organization. Below the General Assembly is the Executive Board of which 3 out of the 5 members are women. The chairperson who is a woman chairs all board meetings, approves policies and procedures, approves financial transactions and is a signatory to the organizations accounts. She also ensures that the strategic plan is aligned to programmes that achieve gender transformation. The other two women are heads of two of the Adhoc committees (Human resource and administration committee and development committee). The chairperson of the Human Resource Committee ensures that at least 60% of the staff recruited are women. The chairperson of the Development Committee who is also the secretary to the board; ensures proper documentation of all matters concerning the board, and makes final decisions regarding potential funding opportunities especially those that target women and girls and potential staff development opportunities.

The secretariat is composed of twelve (12) full time staff, with 8 women, and 4 men. Of the 8 women, 4 hold managerial positions including the Executive Director, Accountant, Programme Coordinator and the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. The Executive Director develops annual implementation plan and advises the board when milestones in implementation are reached as per the strategic plan. She is a principal signatory to the organization’s accounts and therefore charged with development of the annual budget and determines specific expenditures within approved budget lines. She recommends to the board on partnerships to establish with other organizations. The Accountant ensures that the overall financial processes of the organization are in line with generally acceptable accounting rules, and maintains proper up to date financial records of the organization. The programme coordinator ensures timely and effective implementation of all projects in the catchment districts and the M&E officer heads the Monitoring and evaluation department ensuring development of performance indicators for the organization programmes, checking progress among others. CTPR is a multidiscipline organization and provides capacity building to other agencies. It therefore has a pool of 20 – 30 part-time facilitators who support its implementation and realizing the organization goal. These include; counselors, nurses, public health workers, sociologists, community health workers, teachers; these are called upon when there is need for their unique contribution to the organization objectives.
